Gain 1 gives you a classic British crunch to enjoyable high gain tones, whereas gain 2 gives you soaring lead tones, a biting mid range and a solid low end. While a lot of amplifiers will offer you a clean and crunch channels very few offer you just two high gain crunchy overdrive channels. If you play rock or metal the clean channel may be completely useless to you so why not replace that with another gain stage so you can free up your pedalboard of all of those pesky drive pedals. In the original tone testing of the Kraken (that included Martin Kidd & Rabea Massaad) it was agreed that 6L6s gave the tone we were looking for, & so the “regular” Kraken comes with these valves fitted as standard. However, if you think you’d prefer the Kraken fitted with EL34s you can order that as standard if you want. It should be noted that in Rabeas stereo Kraken set up (which is without doubt the most crushing guitar tone we’ve ever heard!) he uses EL34s in the amp he sets to channel 1 & 6L6s in the amp he sets to channel 2. At certain intervals, the kraken will initiate one of three different attacks so you should learn to read the tells and be prepared to respond appropriately. Larger crews should remain flexible against the kraken, shifting between tasks – attacking, repairing, and steering – as required. As always on the Sea of Thieves, good communication and crew coordination is key, so it helps to have one player designating tasks. That player should also keep an eye on the horizon for enemy vessels, as the last thing you’ll want during a kraken attack is to find yourself amidst a PvP encounter unprepared. Although the kraken will pick a random crew to attack when it spawns, there’s a nifty trick you can use to tell when it will appear, if not who it will spawn on.

Kraken Splinter Head
Once the kraken encounter begins, its tentacles will rise out of the water, and you can immediately start attacking with cannons and ranged weapons. You can attack any tentacle poking vertically out of the water, although you’ll obviously find it easier to aim for those closer to your ship. Concentrate on the open “mouths” at the tip of each tentacle to do more damage.

Victory know that you don’t always need 50w so you can switch the Kraken down to 15w, 9w or even 2w of power for use at home, in the studio or on smaller stages.
More seriously though, the attack will create a large number of holes in the lower deck of your vessel. As such, have as many crew mates as you can spare head down in preparation for rapid repairs. The front panel switch offers a low power mode for around 9 watts. In addition, you can use the single-ended modewhich switches to just one or other of the power valves . Low power and single-ended together is taking you down below 2 watts RMS.
